Cummings is talking plenty of half sense today. I will pick my favourite bit so far: "We got, at the last election a choice between Jeremy Corbyn and Boris Johnson. Any system which ends up giving a choice between two people like that as good people to lead gives voters is obviously a system that has gone extremely, extremely badly wrong."

The little tic! BJ could not be where he is without Cummings. No scruples about being the bad boy of Brexit, complicit in the system he now berates, the architect of weaponised deceit in this country's politics. He practised it, honed it, worked it. Problem is, however, that BJ is a natural at this game. Did I call DC Bosola? No, he's Mosca to BJ's Volpone.

This must be the only time in my entire life I've wished Jacobean drama on anyone.

Yes, I suppose Cummings v. BoJo would be the equivalent of Steve Bannon squealing on Trump.

Of course, here in the U.S., we are quite cosseted from international news! Although ask me anything about Kim Kardashian's underwear.

Good old Guardian! Gets a bit too woke for me at times, but a necessary antidote to the Minitru.

The Cummings story has the sense of some weird morality play. He got where he is through a spectacular ability to beguile the public into the acceptance of lies. Now he needs an audience with a regard for truth and a critical ability to discern it, to give his words power.
