Holding On

Second test on return into Scotland clear; I have no excuse for getting out of the trip down south next week.

Joking of course, joking. They're good people despite being Brexiters and Tories. I just need to hold on to my patience.

A week of it though!

No, no, be constructive.

Friend who was unconscious for a month due to Covid and other complications is now out of hospital and back home. He posted a photo of himself up on FB.

He's about 12 years younger than me, but looks much older. No wonder really, given what he's been through, but somehow it did surprise me. I don't know what I was expecting to see, but the photo underlines how hard it has been, how touch and go it all was.

I guess beauty will find its way back with health; once he's moving, going to events, vitality will quicken his healing. Not that he is really the 'quickening' type. In ayurvedic terms he is about as Kapha as it gets, with a mild slow kind of tenacity, stubborn without seeming pig headed. He'd be a great ent!

He had long thick shaggy hair that reached his waist, but there was no way of washing it when he was ill so it turned into a huge dread. In hospital they cut it off. I mourn it a little bit, but there's nothing like short hair for signalling a new beginning. From his picture, seems his hair is now pure white.

And there's one great thing about it all; he received hundreds of messages of care and concern. He is loved and never really knew it. That's something to hold on to as he lifts himself up.
