May the time bring joy to those who want it!
I have wondered why divinities are often blue. Turns up all the time in hinduism of course, and the sky-goddesses known as Dakinis are blue, and some sources (haven't checked how reliable they are) cite Jehovah as going through a blue phase. Don't see how that can be right - Jehovah never manifests in human form does he? You don't see much in the way of blue people in European mythology/folklore - I can only think of one example, and that was told to me by my reader at Edinburgh University, specialising in West African studies; I have never chased it up or found its source. He claimed that in dark age/medieval Ireland, 'dubh' pronounced 'duuv' meant brunette person, black people were called blue men. I find this hard to believe; I thought the blue folk were the wode wearers, whom Graves claimed were the picts.
In other news, seeing excellent chums tonight, our familiars turn up on Friday, and my love has bought me a new pair of pvc thigh high boots. I love Halloween!
