God and The Woman

On the overturn of Wade vs Roe: I feel for women whose lives are going to be harmed by this ruling. Whatever one thinks of this matter, surely the matter must come down to the individual woman herself. It is her body, her life, her choice, and if God has a problem with it somehow greater than a problem with rape or incest, God and each woman can work it out between them privately. While I see reasons for the 24 week limit, why does it need to be made any harder, any more dangerous?

I was angry yesterday so I wrote this on my FB: It's not nice (it's also not very good, but I'm still boiling in fever) so, in a desire not to trigger, I place it under the cut;


When it's of womanhood we speak
It's not the softness of a cheek
It's not the wish to have long hair
Or sequins dotted everywhere

It lies in ugliness and flood
it lies in stitches and in blood
It lies somewhere you're taught to shame
It lies within a world of pain
It is the leer in someone's joke
The knowing sneer when it gets broke
It lies, by bruising fingers sought,
It lies by those who think they ought
To rule your body, in and out
Understand now and have no doubt
You are death's toy at any term,
While they protect your rapists' sperm.
And if you did not see before,
Know this; they long to call you whore.
So fight against what these would do.
Accept at last; they don't love you.
