The Times is being succinct today:

She is saying that she's 'sorry.' My cousins have had to give up their hopes of having a mortgage, because the brokers are so spooked, some are offering variables, with potential increases of between £600 and £800 a month. They are disappointed but OK. Thousands, perhaps millions won't be OK.

But she's sorry.

Watching her, blinking and stupefied, when she finally did turn up to face the Commons having ducked PMQs (the leader of the house had to reassure the Commons that she was not 'hiding under a desk') I could almost feel sorry for her, for the tragedy of her crashed career, were she not so ready to facilitate the tragedy of others. She will be remembered as the worst PM in living memory and perhaps of all time. Lacking intelligence and empathy, suffering from chronic Dunning-Kruger issues, vain enough to have been dubbed the Minister for Instagram with her endless Thatcher cosplays, vain enough to be humiliated by what looks to be the entirely damning judgment of posterity. It takes something to be a worse PM than Boris; but, as I've said before, that's why he lifted her so high. He knew her foolishness. He set her up to facilitate his return, or at least make him look better than truth would paint him. There you go, job done.

She says she will lead the Conservative party into the next GE, which would be absolutely marvellous, though unlikely.

Meanwhile, despite the caustic brutality of The Times, for the first time ever The Star wins the Internet:
