A bright morning

Is there any greater blessing than a good night's sleep? I was so exhausted yesterday I crashed out at 8 and woke at 8 this morning, refreshed, after good if busy dreams which were mostly cluttered, me trying to make tea for a group of friends but unable to find the right tea-bags. There were a lot of us there.

We travel to Inverness today.

If I didn't feel so cheerful about getting some actual sleep plus visiting the city I have bypassed so many times, I would be wistful about the Goblin's Ball. We ended up with this clash of dates because R forgot and booked us into this https://monsterfest.rocks/, and as it's £600 all told and I can see how much he needs music and not thinking right now, this is where we go.

I say needs. He works in the energy industry, and his exhaustion has been complete, somehow revving up from nothing to plenty for every work emergency, otherwise he wouldn't have made this mistake. But it's only a mistake if we let it be. We will enjoy it, and if there's a regret at missing the game, with all its costume and excellent roleplaying and a chance to be with great friends, I can be philosophical. We will see some missed faces soon, and they can tell us all about their fabulous night among the goblins!
