Strange dream!

I learned that a party had been arranged for the publication of my book, but the publishers hadn't been invited! In fact, I had only just been made aware of it, and protested vociferously at the idea of a celebration before a deal had been signed* or not even inviting the publishers and others involved. The whole thing was crass, but I didn't want to mortify people who had gone to all this trouble, so I spoke to those involved in its organisation. One of these was Old Foe. She explained to me that the party was arranged, less for me and more for members of 'the community' so they could prepare themselves for the conditions arising from the publication, because it would have some kind of knock-on effect regarding them.

I was completely baffled by this, and while other shenanigans happened, I found time to visit the garden venue where it was all going to happen. It was perfectly designed, including a little fountain from which bubbled a seemingly perfect amount of water all the time. Some kind of show started where a pitch was divided into quadrants according to elements, and people were putting on some kind of show representing water, but it wasn't very cohesive. It struck me that somehow I was connected to the Fire show, which is weird because I am not fiery, or at least, not unless I'm aggravated. but after that things got hazy.

Just bizarre.

* This is something I never do. Hubris demands quiet until signatures hit paper, and probably even after that.
