Her work didn't always do it for me, at all. But I respected the burst of difference, the sharp, the bright, the demi-ugly, the fight in it, the jarring, the something else.
There's this from her: “Choose well and make it last,” Vivienne tells Miss Vogue when we ask her for her advice on how to best wear her clothes. “If you love something wear it all the time, don't just suck it all up and consume. Find things that suit you. That's how you look extraordinary.”
Honestly, I never cared enough, possibly because by her heyday, I was tired of being extraordinary for all the wrong reasons. But here's to not being respectable old dears or sweet young things on the say so of someone else. Thanks Viv x
