Praying for Poo.

Huh. Well, took old boy cat to the vets yesterday to check on his thyroid and talk about his general health. Great news, he's responding perfectly well to the thyroid medicine. Bad news, he's backed up with poo. We had noticed his difficulty in squatting, and the futility of his attempts. So they kept him in, trying to give him laxatives etc. Soon I will phone them to see if they have had any luck. If they haven't, the situation ahead may well be a proper enema which would require him to have a general anaesthetic.
He's 19.
We cancelled our dinner out last night, as the weather was foul, cold and wet enough for the fire to be on and whiskey rather than champagne to be the order of the evening. Besides, all I could think about was our old cat overnight at the vets. I want him well and home.
To force myself away from fear, I indulge in a little irritated laughter. It's one of anger's jobs, I reckon, to burn out all that unmoving negative emotion that lies in the mind like a swamp. When all else is futile, shout at it or laugh at it. So then, to Panacea!
About AI art etc, AFAIK it's a fun tool but should not be used to replace creatives. Want to make one's own AI art? Keep it at home, show it to friends, don't sell it, support the real thing always. Meanwhile, I have been temporarily suspended from our FB AI art group, because in response to a Nightcafe Studio challenge I used a prompt to create a mermaid on a rocky shore... and she turned up, complete with bare breasts. I didn't ask for the breasts, they just arrived. I put the piece into the challenge, and it was promptly disqualified. Here it is, behind the cut, for it is a shocker in more ways than one.

'No nudity,' said the admin (I'm largely paraphrasing cos I am impatient as well as annoyed) 'just because the AI generator accidentally made a mistake doesn't mean...'
'If the AI made a mistake, I'd like my credits back please.'
And that is when I got suspended til tomorrow. It might also be because I put a link up to this image, but tbh, the removal occurred immediately on my suggestion re the money. Hmm.
In any case there is a lot of work to be done elsewhere, though my head is full of obstacles. Really, my end game should be to run a primitive cafe somewhere on the Med, where all punters get is water or a coffee plus olives, and access to a cave labyrinth full of questionable art and poetry. Trying to work out whether or not this would be some people's version of Hell; it feels like a contender.

I am sorry about yr (feline) best boy. The Meezer made it to 20 (which my vet told me was Methuselan), but I am constantly reading in The Daily Mail about cats celebrating their 30th birthdays. May your boy be one! ❤️

Date: 2023-07-18 08:42 am (UTC)The mermaid was a development of an earlier bizarre attempt, the main prompt being
'mermaid on a rocky shore in a storm by artist "Gustave Buchet", intricate details pyroclastic flow, fairy, sinister,' weight 1.5 SDXL Beta
Plus a negative prompt: 'ugly, tiling, poorly drawn hands, poorly drawn feet, poorly drawn face, out of frame, extra limbs, disfigured, deformed, body out of frame, blurry, bad anatomy, blurred, watermark, grainy, signature, cut off, draft' weight -0.9
This was all in model SDXL Beta, and here's the result:
I couldn't leave her in such a state, so I used the above as a starter image in SDXL 0.9, using exactly the same prompts but changing the weight of the negative prompt to -0.3. The result was the jolly lady who got me banned!
