I keep seeing one of those automata clocks like the one in Legend where the hour strikes and out pops a figure on a little circuit pursued by a tiny mannikin Death. But the one in my head has Death race out chased by this handbag-bearing old lady determined to finish him off. If she ever catches up with him he gets coldcocked by the handbag and the clock explodes. Then the lady marches up to the pearlies as the handbag resets and God hisses 'Tell her I'm not in!'
