My second painting was only marginally better than my first. I really need to stop with the castles and vineyard; next I should try a totally random subject like a snake or something. I am not as terrible with watercolours as with acrylics, but it’s not nearly so satisfactory. Thick and gloopy feels rich. What I can do is spatula clouds. Clouds, thick and pasty, more clouds than the real Saint Emilion has seen in years!

We have not yet done a tour of the vineyards. Maybe we won’t. I have never known us just stop like this. The last two years have been way too much, and the pure adrenaline of the drive has now evaporated. He is very tired. As for me, the light and warmth are wringing dry my bones and lungs. It’s a great feeling.

I laughed at "a totally random subject like a snake or something." I guess any random thing is, indeed, random?

Thank you, it is doing me a lot of good! As to the snake, it may have to wait, because I am compelled to try those blasted vineyards again😀
