So a writer chum just phoned up and freaked me out about the dangers of copyright theft, so here I am, locking my last post.

I can't believe I am so easily skittered. On the other hand, he's just being sensible. Oh well.

Meantime, I have discovered sunburn - the very thing I am supposed to be avoiding for the rest of my life - down from neck to chest, covering one arm and one bosom. Freaky.

There is of course a joyous upside to copyright theft... if you are protected (in the UK you ca achieve this by posting yourself your own work recorded delivery in a secure envelope and not opening that envelope...)

If they do nick your work you can then prove you came up with it before them... this usually results in a substantial out of court settlement...

just remember to declare your rights on everythiung you post on the net unless they get you on prior publication...

Sorted re the realities of copyright theft (by precisely the method you describe - are you sure you don't do this for a living?:-)) and at the present time no-one can sting you on 'pre-writes,' on your blog. My chum just panicked me. I'm feeling well ashamed of myself!
