A run down of the week so far:

1)Spooky experience a couple of nights ago, inappropriate to mention in detail right now, so I'll wait until the time demands hokum and it all seems less relevant.

2)Some people out there really suck. Yes, I know, everyone else knows this, but I never really believe it, and even when it's proved, I still make the same mistake next time.

3)...And then I lose my temper, this time really horribly, in a way I never want to repeat.

4)Handbag disappearance. I thought it had been nicked from the house again and nearly blew my stack. In fact one of the cats hid it under the bed.

5)Work. My work is crap right now, because I am so stressed out.

The cure for 1) is to write it down, so I will, when I am less freaked about it.

The cure for 2) is to identify the problem and remove myself from it in a timely and constructive way. There, that's me being a grown up, and also leads to the cure for 3).

The cure for 4) is done. Now the cats must be told off, the moment they wake up.

The cure for 5) is to buy a wee tree. Quince, apple, dwarf conifer, magnolia, holly, flowering plum...no more flowering cherry, the area is full of them. I need something that will thrive well in heathery soil, shallow and well drained, and of course, it's got to have some wonderful folklore/pagan/old world stories around it. I was thinking of Quince because though the fruit is hard to eat raw, it makes totally easy and delicious jams and preserves. But then, when am I ever going to make jam?

Then I realise the real reason I want a Quince tree is because nobody buys them anymore, and I feel sorry for them.

Time for pie.

Plum blossom falling,
petals drift through my window.
A tree's happy tears.

With apologies to [livejournal.com profile] bytepilot

Cherry blossom drifts,
Summers sweet silken lament,
Chavcat stuck up the tree.

"Stuck" in cherry tree
upturned paws scatter dream mice.
Inconvenient Cat.

Empire of gerbils
smug cats lurk smiling
In tree hides Boot.
