I slipped out of a ghost sheath
too small for an egg
too big for a bean
Will you seed? Asked the gods,
I said No.
Will you dream? Asked the winds,
I said Yes.
So they skimmed me over the waves,
a bouncing pebble
till I caught the tide of the sky
and became the moon.
