Strange dreams: bought a plot of land for 20 pence, somewhere called Rosemary Wood or Rosemary Tree... Never got to see it cos that bastard cat of mine, Ralik, woke me up for his breakfast. Dreamt of being with a witch trying to rescue some kind of huge rare snake from being eaten in a very fancy restaurant. Found larders full of them all writhing around, but none were the right snake. Once I realised we could do magic, I wanted us to hugely enlarge a mango and hide in its core, thus getting into the kitchen and proximity of poor monster in need of help. Afterwards I conceded that disguising ourselves as waitresses would be better.

I don't feel very well this morning.

Did you get the address of the restaurant? Stir-fried giant snake sounds quite tasty :-).

Hope you feel better soon, sweetie. Have a hug from me.

Thank you my dear, I'll see that hug and raise you one *hugs back*

As for that poor snake, has it occurred to you that in light of my earlier posts, any visit to said restaurant could result in you gobbling down massive chunks of my libido?

Hello..
What an interesting dream.. From my very poor herb law, rosemary is often seen as rememberance as it is effective as a memory stimulant and the oil reduces the risk of cancer in animals (hey I am a cat lover).

The snake is interesting although I am scared to death of them! I remember a link in celtic legend withthe snake and the house? but I do remember that the snake is linked to Imbolc and the emergence of spring.. hence all the snake spirals... Didn't the Lithuanians workship a snake goddess..... What to you think?

Its a shame the cat got to you before you got really started with the magic powers :)

Hugs
Lore

Rosemary in wine was used to toast the gods, it has a rep for sharpening the memory and stimulating the mind, and folklore tells us that where rosemary grows there lives a great matriarch. It is yet another of those plants sacred to the goddess.

And then there's the symbolism of the snake. Where to begin? Linked to Brigid and imbolc though I don't know why. Linked to knowledge and transformation and the earth and healing and prophecy and royalty and sexuality and yoga and kundalini and the penis and Lilith and Inanna and Cernunnos and Athena and the Delphic oracle and and and...

I don't know of a celtic connection between snakes and the house, nor do I know of a Lithuanian snake goddess. Got any links/sources I can check out?

And now....

Thank you, it's fascinating! I knew about Saule but I didn't know about her connection with the green snake, or the emergence of snakes from mounds. Very interesting!
