I feel better this morning.

No really *feels head in wonder*

I don't feel anywhere near as sick. Praise be, I am cured! Free at last, free at last!

By my calculations based on averages from the latter quarter of 2006, I have approximately 45 minutes until I catch something else. Just enough time to have a shower and boil an egg.*

Go me!

*or waste precious moments updating my lj;-)

Go you, at least until the universe notices that you are well again.

The universe remains cunningly deceived by my constant reliance on Contac!

hurrah!
Wasting time telling us you are feeling better is far more important that showering or egg-boiling (both of which you can sometimes do while feeling ill anyway).

I spent most of my life (from around 9 or 10 up till my mid-late 30s) suffering from perpetual (and extremely painful) sinus trouble or allegies (or both at once), so I can sympathise. These days I have the bliss of feeling well more than I feel ill, which is truely wonderful.

It's good to feel well isn't it? I had respitary problems when I was a kid, and a touch of sinus difficulty in London, but that's nothing compared to the almost endless relay of coughs and colds I've had since moving near manchester. I wonder if my sense of alienation from the place is an irrational response to my constant bouts of illness since moving up here!

Suz and I quite like Manchester (and have considered living there), but the cold and flu thing...hmmm-that may deter us ;)
I can't recall if I told you or not that my sister-in law is a canon at Manchester Cathedral or not? So we have family there-in fact I believe we have ancestral roots there too.

I don't know much about Manchester's roots, and I really should find out; so many of the northern towns were bombed into oblivion and then ruined by town planners with a dread of beauty. it's not a bad place to get around from the centre, (but it hasn't won my heart, possibly because a big bad smoky wolf called London may have achieved that, though I am willing to give Glasgow a chance to woo me!) Interesting to have roots here though. i didn't know about your sister. Fascinating!

It's not cold but it is famously damp and health around here is generally not that good. There was a report in the Metro or some Manchester paper about health and the local wards and seriously they are among the worst in the country, knock 10 years off your life for living in the area. The papers were wondering if it was to do with fatty diets, smoking etc.

Heres another bizarre Manchester fact-the cities own TV channel is linked to Chum media in Toronto, who do that cities TV-which is why the Manchester channel has so many Canadian shows on it.

You may also find what brother does interesting-he is CofE evangelist who does 'rave' services and also writes/talks on Christianity and paganism-from a perpective of looking at shared ideologies and the like. Lately he has been doing Christian evangelism with tarot cards. Not your run-of-mill CofE vicar at all really.
