This is insane. I have the mother of all writers' blocks.

Depending on you, you may find it helpful to
- Read something in a similar style
- Read something completely different
- Write something completely different
- Go for a walk
- Do some hard physical labour such as digging a bloody great hole in the garden

Wise and wonderful

I have now followed all but one of your instructions. And I feel a lot better!

Thank you. Dad's a writer, he always used to have several projects so if he got blocked with one he could do something else.

A challenge

Start with "The wind snatched and flicked flecks of foam from the incoming tide."

Work in a reference to a trench coat, a trilby, four mackerel and a spider plant.

Finish with "S/he took one last look around the room, gently closed the door and left"

See if you can slot a couple of thousand words between those!

Booze is good as are guns. Blades and armour are useful as well...

Time to go and talk to your plum tree. Convince it of it's need to fruit so you can eat delicious flesh and hatch the stony eggs that the fairies hide there.

An interesting idea as it is a pear tree. But on following your suggestion, I have discovered it hiding another new pear, so the fay are certainly doing their best...

Alcohol. Copious amounts. It may not clear the writer's block but it'll stop you worrying about it. The blockage will clear itself eventually.

My favourite suggestion so far, and one I am taking seriously, with a nightcap of fine whisky!
