Stupid shifts, stupidly busy, forgot nostalgia, forgot, in fact, the last decade.

Really truly. I read [livejournal.com profile] november_girl's summary of the last ten years. I recall conversations and faces but there's no proper sense of when they happened, time and years away.

This might be fatigue but I have a strange misgiving that I've always been this way.

My bro is marrying on the 23(24th?) of this month in Antwerp. We'll be there. In a strange burst of mercy, fate has seen fit to keep my father at home. My mother is meant to be attending the wedding. She asked my bro to change the date until the illuminati have realised that swine flu is not going to bring about the downfall of capitalism, and she can travel without a paper bag on her head. He has refused. Recalling the events of her last visit, bro is considering telling the Belgium police that she has disappeared now, so that they arrest her on the border and bring her straight to him. Efficient. I'm impressed.

My mother is 70 now. An old lady in my eyes, but I won't really know that for sure until I see her. 70?

I have believed in many strange things, still do. But I don't believe in time.

Scary, but practical!

For what it's worth, I thought about a year by year breakdown of the last decade, then decided that 2000-2002 were a bit blank in my memory.

Hopefully for the next decade I can always read back through LJ and fill in the blanks!
