Dream Diary
May. 18th, 2011 09:03 amStrange people-clustered dreams last night, except the first which was the most powerful.
On a small plane flying northwards. Suddenly the plane began to slip and tilt alarmingly, and all control seemed lost. I knew there was nothing I could do so I prayed. The plane rolled and tumbled across the sky and I saw the sun ahead, then the earth, dry rock walls such as I associate with northernmost England and lakes or lochs, including one moment when I saw a great sea-serpent like creature raise its neck and head out of the water. I don't recall if I blanked out when we hit. All I knew is that I was on the earth alone, no plane, no other passengers, no wreckage, no damage at all, but on my shoulders a strange contraption that seemed like some sort of cross between a headrest and huge shoulder pads stretching out way beyond my arms like wings. Saw someone driving a tractor and ran towards them for help.
Then I almost woke, went back to sleep and dreamt lighter, more bitty dreams. The first was a trial. I had to rest my hands on a log of wood that floated in mid-air, and found it hard to take things seriously because the log bounced around like a rubber ring in water; and I was entranced with being able to play in mid air. Judge and jury asked me questions, but none of them were damning. Basically they wanted to know if I understood what they were talking about and what I would do in hypothetical situations. At some point I was given a small object tethered to an elastic band. I knew I should keep it, but when a dark girl in red asked me to give it back - she spoke with some authority - I did, albeit reluctantly.
Then there was some kind of summer role play event with lots of friends. A huge commotion in a pool led to an explosion, helicopters, drama, all that. The dark girl in red threw the elastic band into the water and another explosion occurred, this time dredging up an enormous kraken. I could not work out whether it was a real animal or an automaton made for the game. Either way, its tentacles had been blown off, to my regret, but it was still furious and it crushed a man against the side of the pool. People clustered all around to rescue the man. I didn't stay to watch.
I left this all behind me and went to enjoy the summer, looking for pretty clothes to wear.
I can see some real life brain blips here; Explosions from an old episode of Bones we watched last night, the dark girl in red may refer back to 'The Dark Red Flower,' i.e the afghani poetess Nadia Anjuman who was killed by her husband...I was reading about her yesterday.
