I don't know! And I have no excuse,I've been there several times! I suffer from Metro syndrome; basically if I can't get there by tube it's officially beyond civilisation.

I know we go through Guildford and out beyond it to some pretty place... Shalford? Tillingbourne? *Waves arms helplessly* Something like that...

As you may guess, I'm not the driver :-)

BTW, Shere was a location in the film 'A Matter of Life and Death'.

I don't think I have ever been there... TBA, apart from the Watts crematorium with all that pre-raphaelite loveliness, I haven't seen much of the area. Should remedy that really.
