Not so good
Sep. 21st, 2020 01:32 pmThe choking thing happened again, big time. This time coca-cola didn't get rid of it and I began to panic. Again we had to call an ambulance, again a guest was here and this happened at dinner.
It was the same ambulance crew as before! They gave me the side eye when I explained I hadn't been to the doctor about the choking... It eventually stopped, the food did as it should, but they wanted to take me to hospital anyway. Tough though, because everyone at dinner had drunk some alcohol. It was the middle of the night. How was I to get back home?
I declined, promising everybody I would phone the doctor today. The message says the surgery's shut. So now what? 111 is for serious stuff, 999 is for emergencies... This isn't serious until it is, and then it really is. I am still very worn out by the whole thing.
I don't know what to do.

Date: 2020-09-21 12:45 pm (UTC)I'm sure you've consulted doctors up the wazoo about this, so I should just keep my mouth shut, but once a nurse, always a nurse etc etc, and this does sound to me like something that might have to do with acid reflux.

Date: 2020-09-22 01:01 pm (UTC)I haven't contacted doctors about this, I just thought thought it was as thisnewday suggested, a possibility of eating too fast and not chewing enough, especially at meals with guests.
So I'm very grateful for thoughts from those who have experience of this kind of thing, professionally or personally!

Date: 2020-09-21 09:21 pm (UTC)If you might have to call an ambulance again in future if it's not taken care of, that's serious enough for 111 - they're there to stop you having to use expensive services like ambulances if you can avoid it.
