Hard but better

smokingbootTrying not to let the outside world impinge too much, pushing through work, however trivial it seems in the face of the greater realities. We are doing what we can but it doesn't feel like enough.
I dreamed last night that I was introducing Mallorys_Camera to my parents. While everyone was dressed very casually, and both my parents looked like they did in the 70s, there was something slightly formal about the introductions. I made effort to pronounce my friends name the way she likes it said, and slightly fluffed my dads. It didn't seem to matter really. After that, I was in a place with two great church buildings, one an abbey, the other a cathedral. It was called something like Treviosti/Treviosto. The architecture seemed mainly Northern European, with a curious building in front of me covered in what seemed like a very regular patch work of gold and brown rectangular decoration, like chocolate bars in gold wrapping all peeled back at the same angle. It fascinated Western_Ind, and I left her there to look at it. The day was warm. I went to the cathedral/abbey, but realised I was wearing little to cover my legs, so took off what seemed like a sarong top over my swimsuit, and tethered it into a long skirt. The lady curator of the place was not sure it was appropriate and said I would have to ask [insert authority figure] but I was out of time, so went on to the other abbey/cathedral, where I was meant to meet people. Something about a banner flying, I remember only black on it.
I'm pretty sure this is a worry dream about us all going up in smoke If so, no need to worry, we'll meet up in wherever that place is. The architecture's interesting and even if we mill around lost for a bit, we'll be fine. And in the meantime, the equinox has come in beauty. The light's returning.
