Starship names

Things are slow, so I thought I'd waste a couple of seconds on the starship meme that's going round. Trouble is, I can't think of a good name for a starship commanded by Smokingboot. I started with the USS Termagent or the USS Campari and ended with the Shotten Moth, the Wawatutu, or the Sphinctergator.

And I can hear Phil Collins burbling 'Another day in Paradise,' in my head. Something is very wrong...

btw: those names are not bad at all - all I could come up with last night was SeaBreeze, so I didn't bother either :)

My head is now happily Collins-free:-)

As for the names, 'Sphinctergator' is my favourite, cos I can hear the dialogue boomed out to evil aliens over our inter-starship comms system:

"THIS IS THE USS SPHINCTERGATOR: YOUR ASS IS BUSTED."

Frankly I don't know how Hollywood survives without me.

Hollywood's loss is our gain :)

She was made on Hope (Altair-2)

Beautiful place, Gravity's only three quarters standard so walking always has that slightly surreal 'floating on air' quality.
Jugglers and acrobats perform feats that are little short of astounding astounding.
Then there are the dawn fairs at Needle-Point on the edge of the Carressing Desert. Hundreds of people waiting on the clifftops for the first rays of the rising sun to strike the the black rocks, then leaping off the cliffs like a glittering flock of seabirds to catch the updrafts in their irridecent parawings.

There are times when I really miss being there.
