These things come in threes. One of our parlour palms was looking very sorry for itself so I repotted it. It has repaid my care by dying overnight. Parlour palms are supposed to be easy to look after, so I have decided that it offered itself up to the God of Awful Weeks as a sacrifice. I will remove it from its new pot soon, and try to work out what to replace it with.

The other palm looks terrible too but not in as anything like as bad a state. Both have suffered from having their leaves used as dental floss by the cats.

The mood has lifted; R is ever closer to his normal self and somehow the good twin must have influenced the bro, who returned to me with genial ordinary conversation and no mention of that bloody rotisserie. We leave it behind us. I am relieved and feel the weekend starts on a pleasant footing. Chum turning up soon, weather currently looking lovely. If she gets here early enough we may make it out. If not, we'll try something tomorrow.
