Some things are too big for my little words.

The Year of the Moose

2004, you have been a moose year, tough, awkward, and intractable. But I learned a lot, and your mooseful qualities helped pay for parties and presents and pets and Scotland and Venice. I've enjoyed so much beauty and fun this year, and perhaps gained a little understanding as well.

And no, I won't forget the sorrow either.

But as for the grind of it, the stuff that's been falling to bits because I never get round to sorting things, because I'm so weary?

I understand what needs to be done, I just hope I have what it takes to do it. Things will change in 2005. May those changes be for the better.

Farewell Year of the Moose. I dub your successor the Year of Buttered Brazils.
